Sight Matters, in partnership with Bus Vannin, are hosting two Get to Know the Buses open days at Corrin Court.

Get to Know the Buses has been created to meet a demand from Sight Matters’ members to explore Manx buses in a safe and accessible environment. Navigating public transport can be very difficult for those experiencing sight loss, and these open days have been designed to give Sight Matters' members, as well as the community at large, an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the interior of Manx buses in a low-stakes environment.  

The two open days – on the 12^th and the 19^th of April between 10am and 3pm – will feature both a single-deck and a double-deck bus on-site at Corrin Court for members of the public to explore. There will also be representatives from both Sight Matters and Bus Vannin on hand to answer any questions attendees may have.

It’s at the very core of Sight Matters’ ethos that our members are empowered to lead independent and fulfilling lives. By giving our members an opportunity to acquaint themselves with this important element of the Isle of Man’s public transport infrastructure, we hope to empower them to make full use of the buses, confidently and assuredly.  

Get to Know the Buses is a community event, and we welcome any individuals to attend. In particular, we are aware that some neurodivergent people may benefit from this experience, as well as young people who may be about to start getting the bus on their own.
